Susan F. in Lockport, NY had inherited her Father's home after he passed away, and had the task of preparing it for sale in the upcoming Spring market. The home included a two story garage and pole barn...which was loaded with nearly seventy years worth of accumulation.
Susan's father was a wood worker, and an avid collector antiques and other novelties. It seemed to us that he was the type of man that would hold onto scrap wood, auto parts, sheet metal, and other things that in his estimation would have a use some day.
Overwhelmed with the sheer volume of stuff that was tucked away not only in the pole barn, but in storage areas of the garage, the house itself, and sheds on the property...Susan decided to call the Junkluggers of the Northtowns after seeing one of our yard signs at a nearby intersection.
Soon after, we met Susan and her husband to survey the situation and provide them with a no obligation estimate. The estimate turned out to be an eight truck job, which we handled over the course of two afternoons in November. When Susan agreed to hire us, we came and set our service truck at the exit of the barn and went to work right away by focusing on the recyclable items first. Realizing that they had nearly 48 cubic yards of recyclable metal, we brought the product to a nearby recycling partner for reuse.
Amongst the other treasures we found in the barn, we were able to salvage a church pew, a wagon, and three china cabinets. All of which were brought to our facility, cleaned up, and promptly donated to area non-profits for use by those who are less fortunate.
Having done such an admirable job with her father's collection in the pole barn, Susan agreed to make arrangements with the Junkluggers to go ahead and do the clean out of the contents in the main house. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting Susan, and her family and are looking forward to completing the preparation of the residence for what will be an emotional sale for the family.
